Campus Visit Schedule / Open House Calendar
2009- 2010
High school students and future freshmen have a variety of options available for their visit to the IU Bloomington campus.
To schedule a campus visit, please call our scheduling office at 812-855-3512 or use our online scheduling system.
Year-Round Visits
Discover IU Days
This campus visit option is offered Monday – Friday most days of the year, including many Saturdays. It typically includes a group information session, walking tour of campus, and tour of a residence hall.
Group information sessions provide a comprehensive overview of the academic, cultural, and social opportunities IU offers. They allow students and families to learn about our admissions requirements and have their questions answered.
A campus tour is your chance to see IU's academic buildings and campus landmarks. Tours are led by current students who are happy to answer your questions about life at IU.
The optional residence hall tour is also available most days during the school year.
Weekday visits may include an appointment for you to meet with a representative from your academic area(s) of interest. To schedule an individual appointment, you must phone our scheduling department at (812) 855-0661. A scheduling director will arrange all of your visit options at that time.
Red Carpet Days
Admitted students gain the most from attending one of our day-long Red Carpet Days, which take place in the spring. Red Carpet Days provide students and their families with specific information pertinent to admitted students as they make final decisions about college and IU. In 2009, Red Carpet Days will take place Monday through Friday from February 23 - April 30 (with the exception of our Spring Break, March 16-March 20). Reservations are required for this program. To reserve your spot, please call (812) 855-0661 or use our online scheduling system.
Special Group Visits
If you would like to bring a group of seven or more students to campus, it would be our pleasure to arrange a special visit for you. We typically host large group visits for high school groups, 21st Century Scholars, and other student groups. This option is available most weekdays while classes are in session. These visits typically include an information session hosted by the Office of Admissions and campus tour. Schedule your group here.
Multicultural Visit Options
If you're African American, Latino, Asian American, or Native American, you'll want to attend one of our Multicultural Visit Options. Consider our Multicultural Open Houses for juniors and seniors; IU Reach, a three-day visit program for high school sophomores; or the Overnight Experience for admitted students.
Overnight Visits
See what it's like to be an IU student for a day through our Hoosier Overnight Student Team (HOST) Program. You will be paired with a current student, spending one night in a residence hall, attending classes, and participating in campus activities. The HOST program is available from October until mid-April.
